Alexandre Bauche
Appointed in 2019 as Managing Director of ED&F Man Sugar, Alexandre has over 25 years of experience in the commodity trading industry, having dealt in sugar, alcohol, biofuel, coffee, rice and fertilizer.
After successively managing the Africa and then the global white sugar trading book, Alexandre has been actively involved in the restructuring of the group’s Sugar trading activity while maintaining its global footprint with dedicated teams located in the UK, Asia, Europe, USA, India, Africa and South America.
Originally from France, in 1996 Alexandre relocated to London where he started his career as a brokerage clerk, later moving to New York to work for the Sugar operation and shipping department of the commodity side of Man PLC. Over the years, Alexandre has been involved in various business ventures and held a multitude of management positions predominantly in Switzerland, such as Director of Bauche Energy and Bauche SA which was sold to ED&F Man in 2012. He has also been a board member of GelAzur in France and of Greenergy Bioethanol trading arm that he helped to establish in Brazil after entering into a joint venture.
Andres Galindo
Andres is the Chief Trading Officer of ED&F Man Sugar and forms part of the Sugar Management Committee.
A Colombian National, he joined the Group in 2005 as part of ED&F Man’s Worldwide Talent Program.
In 2006 he moved to New York to work as a derivatives trader. During his time there, he successfully managed an options market making operation in the Sugar, Coffee and Cocoa markets.
He relocated to London in 2009, to join the Sugar Division as the Head of Raw Sugar. He served in that capacity until his appointment to his present role in 2019.
Andres has over 20 years of experience in the commodities trading business and holds an undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering.
Johanna Sutcliff
Johanna joined ED&F Man’s commodity business in 1998 after qualifying as a Chartered Accountant following her early career as an auditor.
Since then Johanna has held a number of senior finance, operational and managerial roles across the organisation, successfully moving between ED&F Man’s corporate function and commodity businesses during this time.
The combination of 25 years of commodities experience, principally gained in the Coffee and Sugar businesses, and an in-depth financial knowledge allowed Johanna to lead the transition of the Sugar Trading business through a significant restructuring and divestment process; this completed at the end of 2019.
Johanna has held her current role since 2019 and forms an integral part of the Sugar Management Committee.
David Parker
David is the Head of Sugar Operations, where he leverages his 40 years of experience in ED&F Man’s Sugar business to provide direction and support to the global operations teams.
David joined ED&F Man Sugar Ltd in 1984 and during his time with the company worked in both the operations and commercial teams, rising to become the senior trader responsible for the markets in the Indian Ocean region, being based in Mumbai from 2003 to 2005.
Following his return from India to London, David was appointed as Head of ED&F Man Sugar’s London Operations team, a position he held until 2014. In 2014 David was appointed as ED&F Man Sugar’s first Global Head of Trade Compliance and over the following year introduced regulatory and compliance policies and procedures which underpinned ED&F Man Sugar’s activity as a merchant of physical commodities. At the same time, he became a member of the Sugar Risk Committee, a position he has held ever since.
After a period as ED&F Man Holdings Ltd.’s Head of Compliance, Commodities, following senior Sugar BU management changes in 2018, David was asked to join the Sugar Management Committee and in 2021, was appointed as a Director of ED&F Man Sugar Ltd.
David has represented ED&F Man Sugar Ltd on the Council of the Sugar Association of London since 2016.
